Lodge Executive Committee

The lodge executive committee (LEC) is the youth-led governing body of the lodge. It provides leadership and direction for Kunamokst Lodge. The LEC manages key lodge operations, program, maintains the lodge budget, and much more.

The LEC consists of voting and non-voting members. The lodge chief chairs the committee and presides over all meetings.

The following individuals serve as the voting members of the LEC: the lodge chief, the lodge vice chiefs, the elected chapter chief of each chapter, and the immediate past lodge chief (provided they are under 21).

Adult advisers provide mentorship and guidance to the youth leaders. This group includes the lodge adviser, associate advisers, committee advisers, and the staff adviser. They participate as non-voting members of the LEC.

Lodge committee chairs are also part of the LEC. They report on their committee’s progress at LEC meetings but do not have a vote.

Lodge Committees

The lodge has several operating committees that help administer different parts of the lodge program and operations.

The auction committee is a key operational group dedicated to supporting the lodge’s financial health and fundraising goals. This committee reports directly to the finance vice chief, ensuring alignment with the lodge’s overall fiscal strategy. Its primary responsibilities include managing all lodge auctions at events, such as planning, logistics, and execution. A critical function is to oversee donations for auctions, securing and managing the items that generate funds. By executing these tasks, the committee assists the lodge in its fundraising goals and also plays a role in wider organizational efforts by assisting with the section auction.

The Elangomat committee is a vital component of the induction process, directly supporting new member integration and reporting to the ceremonies vice chief. The committee’s core mission is to recruit and train Elangomats, ensuring that these dedicated Arrowmen are fully prepared to serve as guides and mentors to the candidates. By facilitating a positive and supportive experience, the committee actively promotes Brotherhood attainment among the newly inducted members. Furthermore, it works to ensure new members stay involved, specifically by encouraging activation of new members in lodge activities. To maintain the quality of the program, the committee also recognizes Elangomats for their service and dedication in helping candidates fully understand the Order of the Arrow.

The historical committee serves as the custodian of the lodge’s past and legacy. Reporting directly to the lodge chief, the committee is tasked with the comprehensive duty to maintain lodge history, written records, and media, ensuring that all significant events, accomplishments, and documents are preserved for future generations of Arrowmen. A primary function is to share this history with the membership by arranging to display memorabilia/history at events and section conclave, creating engaging visual narratives of the lodge’s journey. To facilitate this ongoing effort, the committee is also responsible to maintain the display of lodge memorabilia, curating the artifacts that tell the story of Kunamokst Lodge.

The merchandising committee is responsible for the look and availability of all official lodge branded items. This committee reports to the finance vice chief, aligning its operations with the lodge’s financial goals. A core function is to maintain the lodge brand guide, ensuring all merchandise and materials adhere to a consistent and official identity. Furthermore, the committee facilitates merchandise designs, working to create appealing and desirable items for the membership. Finally, it plays an active role in sales by assisting in running the lodge trading post at various events, making the merchandise accessible to all members.

The shows committee is the central body responsible for the production and presentation of all engaging performances and formal programs at lodge events, reporting to the lodge program vice chief. Their scope includes planning and executing all lodge shows, campfire programs, Scout’s Own, and announcements at events, ensuring high-quality entertainment and effective communication. Furthermore, the committee plays a role in preservation by being tasked to work with the historical committee to archive all produced shows, maintaining a record of the lodge’s history. Logistically, they are responsible to maintain lodge shows equipment, ensuring all necessary gear is functional for performances. Finally, they extend their efforts beyond the lodge by offering support to the section shows committee.

Reporting directly to the lodge chief, the Vigil committee’s primary duty involves the sensitive process of selection and induction of Vigil Honor recipients, ensuring that candidates truly embody the principles of the Vigil Honor. Beyond the induction ceremony, the committee plays a crucial historical role by actively maintaining a comprehensive list of all lodge Vigil Honor recipients and further honoring their memory by maintaining a plaque with deceased dues-paid Vigil members, serving as a permanent tribute to those who have provided exceptional service to the lodge.
