2026 NLS & DYLC Recap

On the weekend of March 27-29, the Order of the Arrow’s National Leadership Seminar (NLS) and Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC) took place in Eatonville, WA. NLS is a premier training for youth across the region, and provides many unique learning opportunities for all attendees. Coming back from this event, several of our chapter and vice chiefs have gained knowledge and experience that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. We would like to thank Tim Page, McKay Lindsay, and Pacific Crest Council for transportation to the event, and for making our attendance possible.

One attendee, Tommy K., talks about what he enjoyed this last weekend.

“At this training, we learned so much valuable information that we will all be able to use to better our communities and the lodge. We learned how to adapt and persevere through adverse situations, how to become even more effective leaders, and so much more… it was an incredibly fun and educational event that I would recommend to everyone.”

Another attendee, Rowan M., recounts his experience at NLS this year.

“NLS was a cool leadership program and it was not only educational but fun at the same time. I learned a lot from the classes about how to improve as a leader and as a person. But I had also met new people and made new friends there… we all learned a lot about leadership sitting through sessions to teach us about it… occasionally we would have a session where we would do activities like building the highest paper tower… We did this with our group to apply the leadership knowledge we just learned… Overall I had a good experience and had more fun than I thought I would have… I’d say the trip was definitely worth it.”

Myself, I really enjoyed and appreciated the professionalism of all the staff at NLS. They all did a fantastic job over the whole weekend and provided a great learning experience for everyone attending. All of the speakers had incredible sessions and clear expertise in their subject matter. I also felt very lucky getting to meet the national chief of the OA, as well as people from all over the country, from Oklahoma to Massachusetts.

Take it from your peers, NLS is an amazing opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive as a leader in your troop, chapter, lodge, and whatever service requires of you.
